Fuel Injector Seal Kit (924S)

I have a 1987 924S, and currently working on the fuel injectors. I bought some seal kits, but they do not seem to fit the injectors I have. Every web site I found seemed to have the same seal kits, but they don't seem to fit. First, the plastic "washer" is too large both in width and diameter compared to the original. Second, the cap that snaps over the injector tip is too high compared to the original. The black rubber seals seem to fit okay. The part set I got is 1.287.010.704 and supposedly replaces 94411090100. Not really sure what to do. Trying to avoid springing for new injectors, but I can't find the seal kit that looks like it will fit on the web. Any suggestions?

I had the same problem when I did mine, I think its the wrong parts, The yellow cap covers to much of the injector opening, Thing is when I was doing mine, I slipped and Broke the injector pintel off, SO I just went and got 4 brand new injectors LOL

I recently sent my 924S injectors off to Marren for cleaning/blueprinting and they return them with all new caps and o-rings. They corrected a difference of around 5% variance between injectors and improved flow 4cc's each for around $100, I know you can get it done even cheaper if you look around. I would go this route before you start buying new injectors. I bet if you called them or another comparable injector shop they could get you the right parts also. Just something to consider.

I found the set that matches original at a VW parts house. Matched part for part. $4. per injector. You do not need new injectors. Our tech section-look at top of page-has a cleanout DIY from a pro wrench. If you get really stuck send them to www.Witchhunter.com for clean and balance. Returned with new O rings and hats. Look for a VW parts house locally.

Good Luck

Do yourself a favor and send them off to witchhunter. not only will they replace the orings & hat, but they will clean and flow test them too, and send you a nice chart about before & after. Well worth the money.

if one of them is bad they will most likely have another one they will sell you for only $25 like they did for me.

+1 for witchhunter. They did a great job on mine, and were all within 1cc flow of each other.

See this thread for the gorey details.
Fuel injector job in pictures.

BTW, I have 4 working injectors if you turn out needing some.

the rennbay "blue" hat kit?

the "yellow" hat kits everywhere else were the ones that were too big for my injectors, but the rennbay blue hat kit was the same as the original hats and spacers. It took a lot of carefully applied pressure to get them to seat properly though
