Wiper Q's

It rained for the first time today and my wipers only half worked.

My heap didn't come with an owner's manual can somebody verify the functions of the wiper switch.

4 High (top)
3 Low
2 Off
1 Unknown (bottom)

Are the squirters supposed to run when you pull the switch back toward you (Mine don't) ?

I am assuming that 2 is off because the wipers would park themselves from High and Low (4/3)

What is the purpose of Position 1?

If you pull the lever towards you do you here the pump whine? If not, your washer pump is most likely rusted up (common). Sometimes you can take it apart and clean the rust out but it may be too far gone. I replaced mine ~5/6 years ago. If you don't use it regularly it will rust up again. Ask me how I know?

If you do hear the motor running it's probable that the anti-backflow valves are stuck closed.
