squeaks when turning left
My car is making a squeaking sound when i turn left at slow speed.
I can't tell where exactly it's coming from, somewhere on the right side of the car. Do the wheel bearings make that type of sound when they are about to fail? The brake pads are about 1 year old & still have about 3/4 pad left. Has anybody heard of this happening before? I don't want to only make right turns. If the brain trust could point me in the right direction as to where to look, i'd appreciate it. Thanks BTW it started making this noise after a day of auto-x I didn't think i drove too hard, but i did get in a drift a few times :) |
They do make that sound when the bearings are dried out. Though you may want to shake the car to make sure it's not a suspension squeek.

Front or rear?
Could be the front spring spinning cause it's not tightened down (unlikely) Could be the wheel bearings But could also just be something that is loose. |
It doesn't appear to squeak when going over bumps or when the suspension travels up & down, just when turning left going slow, putting a side load on the right front wheel.
I haven't removed the wheels yet to check if all is tight, i guess thats going to happen this weekend. and maybe a bearing inspect/repack too hpservertech, what do you mean by the front spring spinning? the coil spring? I can't tell if it's front or rear, sounds like maybe front, but i will need a second person to stand outside when i am turning to know for sure |
