Electrical gremlins

When I got my car about 3 (now 6 years) years ago, I would use the signals to turn right or left and my "fasten seat belt" light would come on. It comes on for about ten seconds and goes out.
I needed to replace my old turn signal switch a few months ago and this did nothing to correct the problem. Anyone know what is going on??

I've found the culprit for the seatbelt light to be a dirty ground. Not sure if its the same on an early model, but on later models there is a ground underneath the dash on the left-hand side of the steering wheel, a little bit back and above the cruise control unit.

Leave some Cheerios under the driver's seat. It appeases the gremlins. At very least, they will be too busy eating to cause any new problems. They may even decide to fix some old problems for you.

Whoa.. Wait a minute.. Are you talking about the green ones or the gray ones.. Green ones hate cheerios and they are nasty little buggers!! Grey ones chase you around with tiny knives..And the Orange ones.. Just dont get me started.
Think Ill grab another adult beverage while I contemplate this..
Thanks for reminding me of the dangers here, Legion..

This is a major bump as this situation has not been solved yet.
Does anyone know what this might be?
