1987 924S Exhaust recommendations

The current exhaust on my '87 924S has aluminum tape over a hole in the pipe on the front end of the catalytic converter so it is time for some repairs

Do I even require at Cat converter on a 1987 vehicle?

Any muffler recommendations? I don't want to sound like some crazy loud tuner, but I want a subtle, cool sounding, throaty exhaust.

Rob

weather or not you need a cat is per your state/local emissions and inspection laws.

As for mufflers, a lot of people like the stock muffler with a cat delete pipe. The sound is louder, but not much different IE no loud bumblebee sound like a lot of tuner mufflers.
