924 hellllllllllllllppppp

i finally got my 79 924 running, now it accelerates but only if you are very gentle with the throttle, if you step on it, it dies out....I cant adjust the idle below 1700 and if you lighlty use the accelerator you can only get about 3000 rpms and no more, i'm at wits end here guys...please someone help

Find and kill all vacuum leaks. Then check your distributor timing. Then you can play with the idle but only if you know your injectors are spraying properly, your cold start valve is behaving as it should and your aux air valve isn't stuck. There's more to tune/play with on these than a 924S or a 944, and the guys who really know what you need are here:
