Cosmetic questions

It has been raining here in E. Pa the past ..... long time, but thinking about doing some things to my car. My 944 lable in the back is falling off and was wondering what is the bast way to shave the badge off? Hair dryer I have heard of in the past. The Porsche sticker is peeling off on the sides, not the Porsche part, how would I go about getting that off too? Hair Dryer tooo? And when I bought the car, below the drivers side rock guard was rusted out big time, so I bondoed it up, but was wondering if I should spray paint it or what. The car is like a hockey player, not hte prettiest but always ready to go,some rust on the header panel, the front valence is crooked, the rear bumperets arent on all the way, interior is 6/10, no hatch lock, so looks of the cararent too important to me, Thanks fellas.
P.S. I did fix the bumper in the 2nd pic.

Hair dryer works good on warm dry day preferred for decal. Badges come off with dental floss and heat gun/dryer. Not a bondo expert, but I would sand with paper and get some epoxy 2 part putty(2-3 bars) from local hardware store and mold it in. You have about 5mins of work time and can sand it down smooth after. Maybe also bondo on top of that.
I like Rust-oleum High performance enamel paint from hardware store. 2-3 good coats with 10-25 mins in between. Not a 1000 dollar paint job but will look pretty darn good. Cardboard and tape masking to protect innocent wheels and such. Wear GOOD rubber gloves.

OK, thanks. I have the bondo ready to go, but i will try the putty too because it is a huge rust spot. 2-3 coats of white paint with some clear coat over it should look good enough, better than a rust spot. Damn that hole is UUUUGGLY. Thanks.

You've gotta make sure you get all the rust and decayed metal out or you're just postponing dealing with the problem for a few months. Gotta be bare, clean metal.

A hole that big really oughta have a plate welded into it. Failing that, maybe you could build it up with fiberglass and then use Bondo as the last layer, which you then sand into the correct shape.

Bondo just doesn't work for something that big. If you just fill a huge hole like that with Bondo, it'll take about 3 weeks to completely dry and will never really look good (I know this because I've tried...).

I have tried to get most of the rust out by shoving things in there loosening up thr rust, banging the inner part of the car to loosen up rust, and sanding whatever I could reach and didnt really get a whole lot of rust off. I tried to talk to my neighbor to see if he knows of any welders and he didn't. The fiberglass sounds better than the puddy though.

I got the PORSCHE decal off using a combination of an Eraser Wheel (Get one at an autobody/paint supply store) and CAREFUL use of Decal Remover.

The decal remover will start to remove the clear coat if you aren't careful. A less aggressive option would be a tar remover or Goo Gone, but it will take a long while and lots of elbow grease.

Good luck,

Keith

Goo Gone will get the adhesive off. That stuff works well.
