Porsche Crest Turbo Problems

Hi,

I have an 86 944 Turbo, the turbo wont kick in at its usual 3000-4000 rpms unless I rev it high then let off the gas pedal and then punch the gas pedal down again. When I shift from first to second even though the rpms are high enought to spool the turbo it wont kick in till I press the pedal to the floor let off the gas and then jam the pedal to the floor hard again.

The shop I normally take it to can't figure it out.

Thanks

bad knock sensor or cycling valve. get an led and plug it into the KLR diagnostics with the car running and read the blink code. if you do a search, you will find more info on this.
