924 front seats into 944

Is this a pretty straight forward plug-and-play installation?

do the 924S driver/passenger (front) seats fit right onto 944 rails?

thanks

my guess would be no. 924S would be early 944 seats, and are not interchangeable with late 944 rails. if that's what you're asking...

i wouldn't be so sure about this. i tried bolting early 944 seats to late 944 rails, didn't work. i imagine vice versa would be out of the question...

the only way it would work is if the 924S uses late style seats and rails (which would have the provision for power). i'm not saying it's impossible, you'd just have to have someone with a 924S verify by comparing to a late 944.

"i tried bolting early 944 seats to late 944 rails, didn't work"

thats a different scenario, im talking about using the early seats w/ the early rails into the late car, the theory is that the body is the same so the mounting holes are in the same spot

i tried switching seats for seats first - that was the easier and simpler way to go about it. unfortunately, the late seat rails had the seatbelts mounted to them, so i couldn't use the early seats in the late car. if the 924S seats are the late style, they will work for the 944. if they are early style they will not work unless you are putting them into an early 944.

my 944 seatbelts are not part of the seat, and neither are the 924s seatbelts, which leads me to believe that they are interchangeable?

well make sure, they aren't on the seats themselves, but mounted to the seat rails. the frames of the early and late seats are different, so you can't mount one style seat to the other style seat rails. if the setup in your car is different and the seat belt is independent of the seat then i don't see why the switch wouldn't work.
