The only 2 things I didnt replace
Ok so For about 3 weeks I had a leaky slave for the clutch, I go and replace the slave and start bleeding, Only to find that the rubber line to the slave is leaking fluid, So I go and replace that. I also ordered the Motive Power bleeder to help me do this, I got tied up with work, the GF and being sick so wasnt able to touch it for like another 3 weeks LOL, Now I go out install the line and start bleeding with the power bleeder, Go threw about 1qrt of fluid. STILL A CLUTCH PEDAL THAT WONT RETURN. I am convinced that my clutch master cylinder is bad, I dont see any other leaks. No leaks at the firewall, No leaks at the slave or any lines, no air is coming from the lines when I bleed it. Im not building any pressure with the clutch pedal pumping. Of course its always the things you left alone that brake on you. I should have just ordered the slave the line and the master while I was doing the engine rebuild LOL. Im gonna order a new master for the clutch. I gotta drive my car I love it too much to sit LOL.

Isnt that the truth, the story of the 944!!!! as soon as you fix something, another thing breaks. its almost like the car has to be touched for it to be happy. That does sound like the master, i know that if you bend the bar on the slave it will do that same thing, my first 944 experience was exactly that. Josh

i hear this WAY too often - unfortunately it is a hard lesson learned about hydraulics - the seals and rubber components all age the same, and fail the same - you have to change them all at the same time

I have my 'big 3' on the way too.
How hard is the clutch master to install for a n00b? Looking at Clark's garage, it doesn't seem too easy. I might just do the slave and hose and call it good (i.e. bring it some place). |
the entire project, all 3 parts, jacking, bleeding, and everything, shouldn't take but about 3 hours
