instrument lighting problem
Was changing my intrument bulbs in my car because all the back lighting except the tach was light up, tough to guess at night. So I changed those bulbe, and then changed my temp and gas guage bulbs, but when I put them in, they didnt work. Check for continutity on both side of the bulb in the holder, and got nothing, but when I put my voltmetre wires to one side, I got .2ohms. Took out a good bulb and I got around 13.5ohms. Anybody know of any thing I could have done to mess up the bulb holder?

which 944, different cluster's.
you might have put bad bulbs in, check the bulbs for continuity, not the receptacle. |
Its my 1984. Bulbs checked out good, continuity from 13.6, 13.7, 13.7, and 13.8ohms on the bulbs that dont work when I put them in there place in the instrument. I looked inside of one of the housing, and there is one cooper wire instead of 2. My guess is that the other 3 black things that the bulbs go in are unaligned and not getting power to the bulb

continuity means the filament is good.
in resistance/ohms, touch the probes together, that's what you'll see on a good bulb. |
