Rear Suspension Noise

hello,
I have recently replaced my transmission with a rebuilt, i exchanged my fuchs with 17" cups, the CVs and the wheel bushings checked ok. I had no recent problem until a couple of nights ago when I had to pick up my son and his friend at the mall. My eleven year old daughter went with me. My son, 6' 4" and his buddy made my own 944 car history...the most people and weight ever in it and then....the noise began on the passenger rear side. It sounded as if i had an extra loose phantom muffler on the right side. I haven't been able to put the car on a lift and therefore ask you, what could this noise be? what should i look for?

My guess would be the transmission mount is now less than desirable and the exhaust pipe may be rattling on the drive axle. What type of noise is it making?

Were your cv's "clicking"?

the cvs are quiet. the noise sounds like something is hitting something. not like a large item but s tinnier sound. like something is loose. the mounts are in very good shape. it sounds identical to a loose muffler type of sound. man, what a pain!!

i think that the wheel might have been hitting something. the spacer was not large enough for the rear. i haven't driven it yet but i added a spacer...maybe?
thanks guys.
my wife hates my car because there is always something that needs attention....

Is it the muffler heat shield? Mine just developed an intermittent rattle that seems to be comming from somewhere in the underside rear, kind of like sheet metal, right after replacing my transmission, and I did kind of bend that shield up a little as I was removing the old transmission. I haven't brought myself to climb under there to check it out yet, so I can't say if that's what it is yet.
