944 S2 working fine then decided to be a W*ore

Driving along everyday and she's great..

tonight i go to get a coffee, wait ten min and get back in start it up... Stalls
Start it up again and she bucks like she doesnt want to stay on... put it in gear and
it drives but if i push it it hesitates like it doesnt want to go anywhere.. but if i gently give gas.. she goes fine.. push the pedal down and it wants to bog down and almost dies.

whats up!?!!!?!??

shes full of gas.. oil level seems fine..but on the low side... dont know where to look.

thanks

Marcone

I would check the AFM and TPS for their resistance, see if they are out of spec.

Good luck!

try another DME relay just for fun...

May also check fuel pressure if you can

Well those arent things i think i can check quickly at the place im at.

i just started her up and she wanted to die..but over compensated on idle and held it alive on her own at 1.4k rpm... then let it down and she got close to dying and brought her self back up to 1.4krpm

i drove her around and shes working ok.... every once and a while i felt a slight hesitation on load. but she idles fine and drives decently today...

Anyone?

Sounds like a TPS, but I'm not an expert on the S2 intake system. Check clark's garage for the testing procedure and go check it with a multimeter. Fuel pressure is a bit harder to test but also a possible culprit, although it doesn't go to explain the high idle.

Could also be the fuel filter. Clogged fuel filter can cause the car to run fine until put under load.

As Zero10 suggested, check to make sure the TPS idle contacts are making. You should hear it click open and close when manually opening/closing the TB. If they are not, that will explain why the ICV is not modulating, thus absence of idle. It could also be a badly worn commutators on the ICV.

Weird...

Its definitely a fuel or air thing... i was driving it started bucking like it didnt get enough gas, possibly the Pressure regulator? Dunno.. if it stalls it starts right back up Immediately... with less turns than a normal start up.

it was fine all day... till about the same time at night.. maybe it just doesnt like 10pm?

Anyways... Does anyone want to buy an S2?

4900 Dollars.. ONO

Seriously..
I just dont need this one anymore..

Lemme know

So how many 944s have you had now? I would fix the problem and you could probably sell it for a little more money but its kind of a difficult time to sell a sports car in Ontario.

Check the tailpipe...is it sooty, like a diesel? Is there sooty/greasy residue around the bumper tailpipe area? That would indicate a FPR running way off.

On my S there is a "port" I'll call it on the intake near the throttle linkage. My car was running weird so I opened it, poured some throttle body cleaner in it and put the port cover on...the car smoked like a beeotch...then it idled and ran great...just dirty.

PS....how many kms on the car?

Email me some pics dude...I may be interested!!!!

Rick
