944 mo30 front caliper question

Id like to upgrade my front 944 turbo calipers to the MO30 type. These are often referred to as the S4 brakes (from the 928s). Are the ones from the 928s and 944turbo S the exact same caliper? Id hate to go thu the hassle of pulling them off a 928 and they wont fit my 944 MO30 splindles?? Any help would be appreciated.

They are the same. Just make sure that you have the radial mount M030 spindles for your 944, or adapters.

Adapters are available from RacersEdge. If you dont want to use adapters, you need to use the 951S or '89 951 spindles, M030 S2 or M030 968 spindles...which go for pretty big money.

Couple other things come to mind.

1) The brake soft lines are different between the non-M030 and M030 spindles. You will have to get these or some aftermarket stuff

2) The 928 S4 calipers require a short hard line that goes from the caliper to the mount on the strut. These are not cheap if you need to get them from Por$che.

You might want to search under my name for an M030 upgrade thread I posted here about 4 months ago. It has pictures, PN's, etc.

M758 Upgrade

Cheers,

Keith
