lumpy clutch

I've noticed lately that when I depress my clutch pedal it seems to have two stages. The first seems to do nothing and the second does the disengaging. When I release the clutch quickly it seems to catch and makes a noise coming from the pedal, if I release slowly there's no noise. The shifting and clutch are working fine except for this. Is something wrong or am I being paranoid?

Are you on your original clutch master and slave cylinders?

If so, get them, + the hard line, and the soft line (local store)... $300 shipped from Pelican.
