Looking for tips on better throttle response

Looking for a way to get a better response. at the moment if i let off the gas i get the "jolts". again when i give it gas. any easy ways to fix or better the response?

Not exactly sure what you are describing but it sounds like it might be drivetrain backlash. This is often caused by a bad clutch or bad CV joints or loose CV joints. At the very least, crawl underneath to make sure the CV joint bolts are not backing out.

Regarding throttle response, installing the throttle cam and lightweight flywheel should improve throttle response.

Cv

I do know the CV's need replacing.

Between worn CV joints and the closed throttle switch being an on-off switch that shuts off the fuel flow at higher rpms, yes that would be the explanation.

Adjust the throttle switch so it never closes. That'll get it.

then it'll run rich on decel. which might cause problems.

Hmm. Interesting. I made this mod after reading Wilk's website info on the shudder problem. While it did fix the throttle-off lurching, I think the car does run a little rich on decel. Not much of an issue for me, but could be annoying - it's a mod for the early cars, really.
