Wire connector coming from distributor?

I have a connector coming from my distributor that isnt plugged into anything... Its the same plug type that would go into the warm up regulator or the fuel distributor. Where does this plug into?

It goes to what the book (Haynes) calls it the transistor ignition unit. As I remember it is located on the drivers side wheel well. It has been a while and I would have to do some reading to give you the logic and how it works. I believe it affects timing.

As I recall the female plug on mine was attached to the distributor. The male plug with leads was a 3 wire. I don't remember how it was routed.
Hope this helps.
