Could not help myself...

Well I just couldn't resist...'87 951 http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1228524108.jpg
the car has all the maintenance records up to date ( 150 k - timing belt, balance belt, new rollers, etc. done at 140k) he even took it to the Porsche dealer ( in ABQ) and they gave it a total going over. Pages of records, from the original owner to date! The bad...http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1228524406.jpg
and it has lots of chips, faded spots and scratches in the paint. Interior has excellent condition sport seats ( rear seats are cracked on top, carpet is so -so, missing a few switches...) what do you want for $3k? The tires are brand new and this car runs scary fast, makes my NA feel like a go cart! OK, it needs a little TLC, but overall did I do alright?

for $3k, yeah, you stole it.

Sounds like a really good deal. You scored, bigtime!

Congrats!

Nice find Steve. Curious how you found it? I am in ABQ and sort of keep an eye out locally from time to time. No way I could pick up another toy ( the following divorce would break me) but still poke around just to see. Only 951 I have noticed was silver.

Hey, Kirby,
The guy selling it put an ad in our local paper and a friend of mine told me about it. I was the first on the scene and after driving it and looking over the records ( easily $10k worth in repairs, maintenance and mods the past 3 years) decided I could not pass it up. Young guy selling it, has a new baby...you know the story. $3k was his asking price, I almost feel like I should have offered him more! It does need some work, though, so I'll end up putting some more money and a lot of elbow grease into before it's all over. There are only 3 944's in Durango ( that I know of, it's a small town...) and now I own 2 of 'em! Haven't decided what to do with my '83 yet, I put so much work into it I hate to let it go ,but I also have two trucks, so my insurance bill is more than a car payment! What to do?...http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1228576597.jpg
