Porsche Crest Anyone have bonnet and hatch struts for sale?

Hi everyone!

My struts are dead on my car and well, found out the hard way (smashed over the head with the bonnet).

I've tried the auto stores around here and everyone keeps pointing me to the dealer or some aftermarket place that wants damn near $40 PER STRUT!

Is that worth it or are these bozos just charging that much cause it's a Porsche? I honestly don't see what's so special about the bonnet struts, but the rear, ok, maybe but still, 40 per one is still bloody high.

Does anyone here have a set for sale? if you have both bonnet and hatch sets, quote me on both separate, not sure if I'll be able to buy all 4 with bills attacking me the way they are at the moment.

Ez,
Please add your '84-944 to the signature line (see User cp above) then I would just have to tell you to get any set of hood shocks or bonnet as you prefer to call it. They will last 3 to 5 years and you should be able to get a pair for $30.50 from our sponsor-Pelican:
944-511-351-01-M24 Front Hood Shock, 924S/944 All Brand: Stabilus $15.25 each.

The rear hatch shocks are a gamble. If you replace the pair you may end up with glass to metal separation due to the force of the new shocks.

When you say 'glass to metal' what exactly do you mean by that? that the struts are strong enough to push the hatch that even in closed/locked position the hatch will still be -open-?

No the struts are strong enough to seperate the glass from the metal frame. I usually leave mine hooked on the body end and then if I have to open the hatch I pop the strut on the hatch end. Just make sure you unhook it before you close the hatch

I found new struts (URO Brand) on eBay for $19.99 + 9.99 S&H. They always have them posted as a Buy it Now.

Don't need, or want new struts for my hatch.

$19.99? is that for the pair or just one?
Do you have a link to the seller's item?
