Engine "Gurgling" & Detonation

I recently installed the Lindsey Boost Kit which includes the 951max chip.

Since then, I think I'm having some detonation issues. I get a crackling noise under the car right at 4500RPM at high boost. It doesn't happen if I'm not pushing it hard. I hear it in both 2nd and 3rd gear.

It also seems like the engine 'gurgles' a bit more when coasting in gear. Frankly, I love the sound but it wasn't as much as it does now with the mod.

I bought several bottles of Lucas' Octane Booster. I've been using the 'middle' gas prior to the mod - 87 octane here. The highest I can get at the pump here is 92. I have about half tank of 87 and half 92 and 2 bottles of the Lucas in the tank now (supposedly at a full tank 1 bottle is 3 octane points).

I still hear the noise - but I'm not at 100 octane (other folks recommended to try that and see if it fixes the problem) - I'll fill up with premium next time and stick a couple more bottles of the Lucas in there and see...

That said, I really don't want to have to put a couple bottles of booster in every time I fill up. What other options do I have to deal with a possible detonation issue and would this be the cause of the increased engine 'gurgling'?

A stock turbo shouldn't be burning anything other than 92 octane. A modified turbo will definitely detonate with 87. How much boost are you running?
