messed up the axle

Help,

Tried to grease my rear axle in my 1985/2 944 porsche. Screwed up all the ball barings fell out, how do they go back in??? I tryed looking in the shop manels but could not find any info.

I have had 1 fall out when I cleaned but not all. My suggestion would be to remove the other side of the same axle and while cleaning it to repack, watch the position of the CV joint halves and how far you have to "open" before a ball bearing falls out. Mark one side of the axle and flip 180 degrees when replacing. New surfaces are used on the CV joint

Figured it out (3) ball bearing go in from the back side and (3) ball bearings from the front.
