Need Rad Fan, keeps blowing #3 fuse

1984 944

My driver's side rad fan keeps melting fuse #3, even though it spins freely. Must assume the motor is bad, but 386 DOLLARS for new fan motors:eek:????

No thanks.

The passenger fan works fine, but anybody have ideas on non-Porsche, non-Pelican replacement options, short of rummaging through a junk yard?

wait for a reply-from what I've read and seen recently, our cars are dying rapidly and just for sale by the roadside and in barns many to be parted out...

I purchased one from www.apartabove.com last autumn. He pulls them from cars he's parting out. I think it only cost me $35.00 to upgrade from my failed 3 blade to a good, used 6 blade. It's been working without issue ever since.

I've got a 6 blade unit off an '89 S2 w/ only 61 K on it.
$75+ S&H if interested...

smlporsche, sent you a pm.

If your unit will fit a 1984 944 radiator, then I'm interested. I just want to make sure it's a one-for-one swap of the existing radiator fan assembly, don't want to do a lot a "cutting and pasting" to make it fit. Otherwise, I'll just try to find a "drop in" replacement, or, less appealingly, replace the bad motor itself.
