Another garage body and paint job

Before:
After:
I wasn't sure I'd be able to get a good color match 'cause the car has been repainted once before. The color code says the original was black but the repaint is a metallic color. Really cool stuff: The automotive paint guy has a camera that photos the car color , he plugs it into the computer, and it tells you the color. Turns out to be a ( hate to say it) Honda 'charcoal granite'. Would have been a lot easier if it had stayed black, but I don't mind it. One thing on doing these spot repairs is that the new clear coat does not match up easily with the old. But for $50. I fixed the dent, painted and it's a 22 year old car so it ought to be a little rough, eh?

what kind of equipment did you use to spray? I have to do part of my wifes Mazda bumper and I need to spray the 944's rear bumper.

Matt,
not headed your way any time soon, you'll have to bring the car to me.Also, bring lots of beer.,
Dave,
The most expensive thing is the spray gun ( if you already have a decent air compressor).I prefer a hvlp gun, go online and see what's out there, I got mine on sale for about $100. If you're just doing small areas it's pretty easy but doing a whole car is another story.
In the world of car restoration , I'm sure that my garage paint jobs would not win me best of show. But I figure most people only see the rear end of these cars anyway, so what does it matter?

For paint, supplies, and spray equipment, try these guys. They have some good prices, and can match the factory colors, or you might get ideas about customizing. I'm considering adding a pearl to mine when I get around to repainting it.
By the way, good repair job; like you said, most people only see the rear end anyway.
