Oil Leak, From where?

See pics.

OPRV, pressure sender, oil filter seals seem dry, is this the lower balance shaft? Bummed, because I just had belts and seals done on the front of the engine.

Check your lower front balance shaft seal and see if it is leaking? I realize that it was replaced but could be leaking?

What's the easiest way to check the seal? Remove T-belt cover, but do I need to remove belts? This is one are I'm not too confident in messing with.

Hi, pull the front cover and see if there is any oil and if so wipe it off and drive the car a little and look later and see if there is some oil there again. No need to remove belts.

OK, thanks for the baby steps!! I've done clutches and various other big items but for some reason I get squeamish when it comes to messing with the drive belt area. I'll take off cover, clean it up and drive it a bit and report back.

Also check the front off the balance shaft sprocket, it might be leaking from the centere off the shaft.
Not happenning you think ! I think the same when my 83 944 was leaking on the upper balance shaft bolt.
First I did replace the seals on the balance shaft (what ever any sealin the area, I replaced it.Drove the car and there it was the oil dripping from the timing belt cover. Take the upper cover off tand clean the oil and test drive the car and sure enough it is coming from behind the bolt. Put some teflon tape on the thread and bolted back and and torque it .It stop the leak and I haven't seen the leak.
Done that about 2 years ago
Good luck
