Porsche Crest Eva is back from the dead! :D

Eva is finally up and running...yes it's the updated pump, new t-belt, and balance shaft belts. Lining up the balance shafts was a pain...I had to re-do it, lol. But its all better now

Now I just need to do a tune up and smog!

Here's some crappy pics...she needs new paint

You can clicky on the pictures

Nice job! It's always a good feeling when you finish something yourself and get the car running again.

I like the wheels. My old N/A had the same....they look great.

Congratulations on getting it going. It's a nice looking car. Silver was always my favorite color.

Don't feel bad about the paint. Mine's in exactly the same shape.

strong work. the body looks to be in great condition, including the front valence, which is usually beat to hell.

Yeah, the body really is in great condition and that is the important thing.

I can't tell what's going on with the paint on the hood. Is it damaged or is it just heavily oxidized?

If that's just oxidation/crap, cleaning and polishing could make a big difference. As long as you still have paint to work with, you're in business.

Maybe try wet sanding it, first with 1000 grit, then 1500? Then polishing it with successively finer compounds. I use Pinnacle XMT products with a Porter-Cable 7424 random orbital buffer, with Lakes Country foam pads. You'd be suprised what you can do. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=pinnacle+xmt&x=11&y=16

Like I said, as long as there's still paint, you're in business.

Kitty,
Nice to have a 944 back under you, huh? Glad you got the water pump thing taken care of. Hope you can make it to our next 944 gathering in the San Diego area.
One thing you might want to do for the looks of the car is to remove the old, stained stone guards from the sides of the car. Just takes a heat gun and a plastic scraper from your local sign store. Makes a huge difference in the looks of the car in just a few hours!

I need to do that, too. When are the San Diego gatherings?

Stephen,
Every once in a while.
Just PM me your email to get on the list.
BTW, there's a PCA DE event at Qualcomm Stadium this Saturday. We're getting our own 944 group in the schedule. Pretty cool.
