HELP! Shift rod, torque tube
I'm doing the clutch on my 91. No matter how I twist, turn, poke, prod and shove, I can't get the shift rod far enough forward to clear the bell housing on the torque tube in order to rotate the tube and slide it back. Everything I've read says it moves forward about a foot, and that seems about where I'm at, but I'm still a couple inches short of clearing.
![]() Edit: Nevermind, apparently you just pull the rod all the way out the back! That is NOWHERE in Clark's instructions which otherwise seem extremely detailed.

Just remember, you'll want the shift rod to be where it is in your photo prior to reinstalling your transmission.

Shift rod
Did you disconnect the shift lever? With the lever disconnected the shift rod should be moving freely.
