adjusting AF ratio
Can I use an aftermarket rising rate adjustable fuel pressure regulator to adjust A/F ratio across the whole rev range? Plugs are too dark, and I get poor fuel consumption.
I'm running rich, don't think I've got vacuum leaks, have new air filter, working FPR, no O2 sensor in euro models, etc. Twiddling the CO adjust on the AFM only adjusts at idle? What symptoms do I get when a fuel rail damper goes bad? Is it fuel in the vacuum line or other noticeable effects? Suggestions for getting the mixture a bit leaner? Apart from taking out the air filter. cheers Rissole

your average wrencher...

pull off your vacuum lines going to your dampner and pressure regulator while the car is running one at a time. the car should stumble a little but there should be NO fuel coming out of either connection. if no fuel coming out, check your fuel pressure. its a start...

If your fuel system is properly working then you can use the FQS switch to enlean the car. See here:

Thanks, this might be worth a try.
What sort of effect does retarding the timing have on performance, and fuel economy? regards Russell

Retarding timing, will generally give less performance and economy.
