Here is a look at what I am working on 85.5 944
Hey guys,
Thanks for helping me out with all of my questions. I thought I would share a little background on what I am working on. I bought this 944 for $300.00 last year and I now have the time to work on it. When I bought it, the engine was mostly taken apart. I put the engine back together and tried to start it. It turned over and when it built oil pressure I found out that I had a rear main leak. Now I am in the process of replacing the rear main seal and clutch. This is my first 944, and I love it. I just can't wait until I can test drive it. Here are some pics of my project. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Looks like a hell of a deal. I bought one a year ago in driving condition for $3800. Got another $1000.00 in it ytd. Belts, thermostat, visor clips, hood and hatch struts, etc. Daily driver now. Good luck and stay in touch.

Car looks clean! One heck of a deal at $300!! The wheels alone are worth more than that! Sounds like the project is coming along well and you should probably be on the road very soon!
![]() I see from your plate that you are in CA? Whereabouts are you located at? If near the Bay Area.........there's a PCA Wash and Shine Concours coming up this Memorial Day weekend on Sunday in Danville. With the good weather forecast this weekend, the car turnout should be decent! |

The body on your car looks fantastic! I am in a very similar situation. I bought my car 2 months ago, but haven't had any $$ to put in it until my old motorcycle sold last night. I have almost zero car wrenching skills and will be asking many questions on here and I like your idea of posting some pics of your project and giving a little background info. I think I will take a few pics this weekend and put something up as well.
Good luck with your car! |
