Whats my 944 worth? !

Interested to hear from the experts. This is my 4th 944/924 and I'm still trying to figure out the ins and outs of these bad boys as far as values....I'm a fluent mechanic, but this one I don't want to fix up. Just wanna sell it. Ultimately the reality is I will probably part it out, but what do you guys think I could get for it as a whole?

-1989 944 Non-S2
-Auto
-38k original miles
-Clean title (not in hand for another 3-6 weeks)
-Interior is a 9/10
-Exterior is average
-Trans is out of vehicle (was going to rebuild it, it was having issues)
-Leather power seats are mint and working.
-A/C works
-Needs brake work
-Power steering whines
-Engine runs great
-Carpet is great
-Power moonroof
-Factory alarm
-Power everything works
-Needs battery

So rather asking wht it's worth, what do you think I could get for it as a whole?

Thanks all! Keep in mind that if I don't sell it as a whole within 2 days, I will begin parting out the entire vehicle down to the shell pretty much.

its worth about 10K, but the auto trans creates a -8K value.

38K miles? really? hard to say, but offhand, running with trans, at least 5K.

then again, i have no idea what i am talking about. i am sure others will chime in.

At the current condition i would offer you $1100. ohh If their is any chance your in phoenix, I have cash. I would say that because the body has few major dents, and that the rear wheel looks a little off, and finding an auto trans would be tricky.

But you have a rare car, exstreme low miles, crystal green metalic paint, auto trans. I would hate to see it parted!

a sports car with an auto trans is like beer with no alcohol ! not many people want it . its should sell for 700 to 1200 dollars depending how long you want to sit on it .

The auto trans is out of the car. Do the work and get a used auto trans and check the flex plate. Place a WTB add in the parts forum. You might be able to get $4000.

What is it worth as a low mileage shell and a '89 motor? A roller may get $1500.

EDIT-I voted $1250 as a quick sale price

the cylinder head is worth a bit, by itself.

Someone on ebay is asking $3,000 just for a 944S engine. Not sure he'll get it.

That interior is one of the best I've seen, and the rare '89 944 engine is worth a bit more than the others. That dent in the rear quarter panel looks simple and could probably be popped out without much trouble.

What's really hurting you here is the transmission issue... With no trans in the car, only a mechanic/enthusiast is going to buy it, and such a person really wants a car that's setup for a manual transmission instead, so I don't think you'd get much money out of it that way. However, if you were to put in a working automatic transmission, a driving enthusiast still may not buy it, but it would be suitable for the general population.

I believe the 968 tiptronic transmission's computer gets several input signals from the 968 DME computer which also exchanges signals from the ABS computer...(yup, 3 computers).

so it might be easier to swap the whole 968 drive train if you want the tiptronic automatic
