Oil Pressure
I know that 951s seem to have their own language when it comes to gauges, but I was wondering what a 951 oil pressure gauge should nominally read when the car is hot. Mine seems to hover just around the 3-line (sometimes just underneath it) after about 20 mins of driving.

Depends on oil weight you are using and oil temp.
At normal operating temp, warm idle should be around 2.5-3 bar using a 40w oil.. 50w is about 3-3.5 bar. Above 2500rpm should be 4.5+ bar regardless of oil weight.

Yup, that sounds about right. It's usually at around 5bar at full throttle.

My 89 951S is 5 bar cold and hovers around 3 bar hot and just a hair below sometimes. I run 20-50 castrol.

Yup, mine's the same. I was just a little worried for awhile, when I had a clicking sound from the engine, that I might have had a bad rod bearing. I have pretty much eliminated this as the issue, which points to either a sticking lifter or an exhaust leak. I put some Marvel's Mystery Oil in my car today, and haven't heard a noise since.

Same. 3 or a hair under when hot. And 5 when cold.
Winter is usually slightly higher, around the 4 mark.
