Axle swap, 924s to 944

I have a 1983 944 and a 1987 924s parts car. The cv boots on the 83 are ripped. I was wondering if I can take the axles off the 87 and put the on the 83?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It looks like the thing I would have to remove is the rear suspension fron the
924s and put it on the 944 and it would fit? Please say yes. There has to be a way considering it is the same engine and almost the same car aside from the fenders.

You could rescue the good CV joints and swap them onto the appropriate axles.

Yeppers, you could do that, but it would be a colossal waste of time.
