Irene after math

Ok I know it is not Porsche related but I just got power back after 2 1/2 days (no Porsche sights, ebay, or forums) ok a little Porsche related, we just lost power, some lost every thing in this storm, I hope every one made it through ok and no 944's where damaged during the storm. Weather permitting I hope to get a lot of driving in this long weekend

Had no power from sunday around 5am till this afternoon. Other than the downed trees and lack of power not as bad as what was anticipated. The plus side with the generator running it kept all the mosquitoes away when i was working on my car..

Lucky on my end. I just had some odd leaks in the house, which were from the sideways rain washing over the flashing.

Car was asleep in the garage. My Honda did okay though, no real problems right around here. Quite a few lost power.

My garage started to fill up with water (where my 951 sits). Luckily the rain simmered down and nothing was damaged. However I found this 968 in NYC on craigslist that suffered some flood damage. 1992 Porsche 968, low miles, 6speed manual, very minor flood damage

Lots of folks up here in Vermont got hit really hard. Smaller streams and rivers running next to roads and through towns had noplace to go but up and out...especially as the ground was already pretty saturated from a very wet Spring and early Summer. At any rate, its been harrowing to witness some of the destruction up here - whole towns cut off from travel in or out, with lots of roads washed out...plus houses, trailers, cars, and bridges swept away, etc.

My home in Newbury village basically came through fine...although phone and internet services got knocked out for about three days. Its been quite an experience...definitely not something we want to go through again anytime soon!

I'll stick with California earthquakes thank you. Been through it all, Hurricane in N.C., Typhoon in Okinawa, Tornado in Kansas, Blizzard in Utah...I love earthquakes, the ultimate "E Ticket" ride.

All aside, hope everyone and their beloved P-cars made it through ok.

It sucks to hear about all the damage up north... it's not like y'all are as used to that happening as we are down here.

With that said, I'm glad it wasn't us for once... it still seems like Charlie, Frances, Jean, Katrina, and Wilma are all still VERY fresh on the mind, even over 5 years later...

It's all suck and blow, then you lose your house. I'm not mentioning marriage either.

Edit: How bad is the flooding? Interstate highways knocked out? Or is this something the county can repair?
