Water Leak Rear Hatch

Hello, I'm looking for some help with repairing a water leak in the rear hatch right by the rear window wiper motor. Is there a procedure to remove the spoiler and molding in that area, perhaps the Shop Manual or Clarks?

Hi RPorzio -

I haven't seen a procedure, but would also be interested. I used clear Silicone II bathroom sealant to seat the lower portion of the spoiler - glass interface, which worked well, but I still have a leak around the wiper motor. For removal of the spoiler, note that there are two black foam inserts, about 3/4 in long, at the spoiler glass interface- one is directly below the wiper motor.

Garage
Depends if you're talking about leaks from the body/hatch sealing surface or from the frame/glass itself.

Check here for suggestions/procedures on both:
http://www.clarks-garage.com/

The faq addresses seal/hinge leakage and the manual section has a procedure for the frame/glass separation.

I did find a procedure on the Clark's Garage Site under Rear Hatch. It looks pretty involved so I've asked a friend of mine much more skilled than me to come over tomorrow to scope out the project and try to put a plan in place.

I'll keep the forum informed of my progress.
