Fuchs fitment for pre-86 944
Could someone confirm Fuchs factory offering for the 944. From my research it appears only 86 and older cars came with 15" Fuchs as factory option. Were the rim sizes 15x7 with different inset, or were the rear rims actually wider. Will 16x7 and 16X8 951 Fuchs work on pre-86 944? And last question...will 16X9 Fuchs work on the rear of a pre-86 944? (apparently this was the fitment for the 944 Turbo Cup cars) I have an extra set of 16x9 Fuchs from my Carrera. I'm shopping around for a 944 or 944 Turbo and wondering if I'm going to be able to make use of them.

fuch's were not a factory option for our early vehicles, however the early 911 fuch's will fit, they had 16x7 fronts and 16x8 rears typically. just take a look at the offset, the early cars are 23mm late were 52 i think? somone might need to correct me kn that

Well my car came with 7*15 and 8*15 fuchs, it's an 85 early. From what I can tell in the options this was one on the options. Light alloy wheels or something like that.

15x7 Cookie Cutters were standard, 15x7 & 15x8 Fuchs were an extra cost option from 1983-1986.
16x9 will fit fine in the rear. All of this goes out the window when they went to late-offset in 1987. |

15" Fuchs are early 944 wheels, not for late offset. You got it backward.

my stepdad has 16" fuchs on his early 944 and they fit fine.
i just fitted 16" fuchs to my '86 from my cgt replica. the rears have more dish than my stepdads fuchs. On my cgt the rears had spacers. i didnt have to use them on my 944. ![]()
