944 NA 2.5L chip worth the money?

I am looking into a chip from Lindsey racing for my 88 NA, I only use 91 octane fuel. I tried searches looking for past experiences but couldnt find anything. Has anybody here tried them? pos and neg? is it worth the 250 dollar price tag?

thanks a lot

I am not a fan of chips. I would rather do all the neglected maintenance and upkeep--which is required before you install a chip in any case.

I do have the "improved" throttle cam (+- $30) on my "87 and there is a big difference off the line. The "improved" cam does use more gas and my mileage suffers.

Here is a "PRO" answer to a few questions.

I think it's worth the money. It doesn't really make you that much faster, but it increases driveability considerably. You may also consider the FR Wilk chip, which is what I have.

and of course I will disagree...

But if you must-last sentence copied....

See if you can find a used one. Damage for the normally aspirated cars is unlikely to result, so you might as well pick up a chip cheap. If you buy one new, make sure you buy from a vendor that lets you return it "no questions asked". If the chip doesn't live up to your expectations, you can return it.

BONUS! Throttle cam for free!

i have the FR Wilk chip.
It's worth the money as far as i'm concerned.
It reworks the timing and fuel curve for smoother acceleration
It does not add any power, it just moves it around
