I got to take some pictures of the car. It was a little worse then I thought. I attached some photos for your final evaluation. I talked with the owner a little more and he said a another engine was installed years ago. I got a response that gave me some really good insight to potential problems: timing belt and related parts, extensive paint work, interior problems and electrical stuff. so that has made his asking price way to high, $1800. Check out the photos and let me know.

You would think he would have at least washed it and attempted to wax it. Some people think that just because it says "Porsche" that it is worth something.
I would NOT attempt to recondition this car. You will never see a fraction of your money back. For a couple hundred dollars more you can get one that has half way decent paint, runs, drives, and is street legal if it isn't on the road as a daily driver already. Plan on new brake pads, probably rotors and new tires to add to that bill of many other parts. I would not pay more than $300 for that car. For $300, the cost of a tow truck, and your time, you could part it out and make a few bucks.

It is in very poor condition. I would agree with what has been said previously. It is a candidate to part out. I have had 3 924S/931/944's and the highest I paid was 800 for a daily driver. Yes, I put that much more into doing the FOES but, it is a fine running car.
I think that if it was me looking at that car...I would just walk away. His asking price is insane.

Out of his mind, the car is worth 400 bucks tops. You certainly won't be able to pull the dents out of the QP and most likely the same for the roof.

it's definately not worth $1800.
I sold my '84 NA about 3 years ago for $1500. It ran like a top...had up to date maintenance with all records...and loads of spares (including wheels, DME, etc) but a crappy body in need of some bodywork and paint.....and I felt lucky to get that much. If you want a driver...look elsewhere....or pickup as suggested ($300) and part it.

Seeing just the outside of the car I would say $700 would be a fair price to pay for the car.

As far as the dent in the QP goes, I have had to repair mine twice in the same area. My son got his first one in a parking lot, he got hit as the story goes. The second one I did in a parking lot, back into a pole....
