Rear window tinting
Hello everyone
Does anybody know of someone in Florida that can tint the rear window in a 944? I am in the Tampa area but I am willing to travel to some extent. Thanks |

I don't know about in Florida but I was looking for the same up here in Boston last year. I found that most tinting shops didn't want to touch it as soon as I told them what car. Seems that all the compound curves of that rear window is a real nightmare for them to get good results. I've seen a couple of them done in strips but no one piece. I'm sure someone could tackle it but the ones I talked to wouldn't touch it. One guy quoted me over $1000.00 to attempt it but said he wouldn't guarantee the results. Good luck.

make sure they don't nick or cut the defroster wires when they are cutting the tint. If they do, guess what...

how about the rwaps that are divided into small dots, I see them everywhere such as on busses and Im pretty sude they can attach it on the outside and the stuff seems to stretch ok over compound curves. Im thinking covex is less of an issue than applying it to a concave. that would also leave the defroster area alone. the wiper, if you use. well perhaps thats an issue it may wreck the film if you do,

If you've ever driven any commercial truck/van, you'll get accustomed of using only the side mirrors.

Has anyone ever done tinting on the exterior of the rear hatch? I know, the tint would be exposed to the elements, BUT replacing should be simple.

maybe a full sized spare could be mounted to block the back window a little. It does on my van.
