Its some kind of sensor related to the freon. Now why would you drain the AC for no reason at all? Freon is some expensive stuff. Secondly wth where you doing messing around way down there? The valves are topside.
|
well i had a buddy with a pump and plenty freon thought it would be good maint. get it before it gets you type thing. I have no low side port up top thats where mine is. bump for some more info car is a turbo if it makes a diff.

It is the Refrigerant Pressure Switch.
|
Looks like the low pressure cutout switch.
BTW, no need to special order.. you can get a aftermarket for about $20 on Pelican. |
holy crap 200.00 plus dollers where do i find the 20.00 after market one
|
Ok so why did you clip the wires off? I am still not processing how you would think that this would help you fill the ac...
|
i cliped it off after it came apart (Broke) it has to come off before you can fill its on the low side port and my vanilla gorilla hands broke it taking it off i still cant find the cheaper after market one any1 know where
|
the besst thing you can do is hit up people parting out cars in the Classifieds thats how i got mine
|
IIRC that's the high pressure (liquid) side you're looking at. Not really suitable for recharging.
There should be a low pressure (gas) port on the adapter plate on top of the A/C compressor. |
there is no port on the comp only other port is up a lil higher on the bigger line with a bigger port which i though was the high side

ok well i have tracked all the lines the entire system including the comp, where my old 944 na lo port was. there is only 2 ports in this system one large one small the small one is the lo side rt on the smaller of the lines?
|
different years, different locations on the servicing ports.
post year and take a pic of what you think are the servicing ports. |
Let's just clarify a few things:
The low pressure side is the gas line and is the larger of the 2 pipes. The high pressure side is the liquid line and is the smaller of the 2 pipes. On my car that location is where the high pressure service port should be. |
ok so ive been looking @ this for hours today. i have 2 ports on the same line , thesmall one. one port is in the picture has the smaller fill port on it the other on the same line is the larger port evac port kind. it is just buy the d side sturt tower,i have followed every inch of both lines no other ports and no ports on the larger line. i recharged an 85.5 na 944 i had a few yrs ago on the compressor there is no port on this comp.
ANY IDEAS? |
car is a 87 turbo
