Hello I'm Back!

Hello everyone, well I've been longing for another Porker for a few years now - not posted for ages here after selling my '84 944. SmileWavy

Anyway have just aquired an '86 944 NA with intergalactic mileage for next to nothing. The car was being sold as the belts had snapped after the pulley seized - (word of warning, why not replace it while you're in there). In most peoples mind this would be a breaker however other than the engine it is in very good condition and the sills and rust so far don't seem to be nearly as bad as my old one when i bought it! The interior is also in above average condition and it has apparently featured in Porsche World as the editor or a writers car a while back. Anyway it also has 6 and 7 fuchs front and rear respectively so that sealed the deal.
I'm very busy but plan is to pop the head off and see what the damage is. If the worst comes to the worst either drop in a new motor or break it up. All my previous work has been in the bodywork department and haven't done a huge amount on engines appart from the usual smaller stuff such a thermostats, starters, alternators, radiators etc. I'm a bit worries about some of the studs and bolts being diffiecult to shift especially on the manifold - is this worry justified!!

Will post some pics later today! Glad to be back!

We did not get that interior here in the States. Looks great!!! I flew into Scotland a few times when stationed outside London. Fantastic countryside and people.

Cheers,
Larry

Thanks guys. Larry Scotland is great however it rains a fair bit have today off work to start stripping the engine down and guess what its just started raining. No garage + rain = no work done on car!
