968 Question???

Can you get a Tiptronic with a LSD?? Only asking because I have a friend that wants to get a 968 Tip and put a Cayman V8 in it. He wants to be the only one footed racer.........god love it.

it seems they already have an lsd of sorts - contact pete at rs barn for more details on that

i'm sure you mean a cayenne V8 - not sure how that is going to fit in there, but an interesting idea

beyond the obvious chassis, suspension, and brake upgrades that will be needed, there also will be serious issues to address regarding torque limits - the flex damper on the tip is known to fail, and last i heard is unavailable anywhere in the world

lol - almost anything in there is a real trick - the chassis is pretty soft for big torque, especially underneath the car and in the nose - but that is also why it makes such a nice road car - lots of work to do to get it to work "right" though - yeah, you can stuff something in there, but in a couple of years you end up with a rattly noisy bucket of bolts, unless you do a good job of reinforcing the chassis - been there done that - have fun

but look into the availability of parts for the tip - this is a real problem - one of my 968s is a tip and i have no idea what i'm going to do if the flex damper fails
