How do you remove a 85.5 passenger-side window?

Doing a passenger-side door replacement on an 85.5 944...

Assuming I have the inside panel, etc. removed, how do you remove the window?

Do you separate the window from the horizontal "rail" it sits in? How do you release it from the two vertical guide rails?

Also, the replacement door I have has a distinctly different rail on the lock-side. Mine is a simple C-rail running by the lock assy, the new door rail is a very complicated shape with a number of bolt holes near the lock-area. (FYI, the new door looks to have wiring for power door locks, mine doesn't...)

Ideas?

Thanks.

When I replaced my power window motor and took all the bolts out the glass was all over the place. It looked like it would just come right out for me. If I remember correctly. the "horizontal" part you are talking about it fixed to the glass and the wheels of the arms for the window crank ride in those tracks. Once you get the motor and arm out the glass should be easy to get out.

Have you tried removing the power window motor yet?
