anyone in houston want to make some cash and help or do my clutch on my 90 s2?

i am thinking of pulling the motor on my s2 to replace the clutch and oil pan gasket maybe other stuff...
anybody close that can help or do it for me?
i found a shop to do the clutch for 700 plus parts but i may just do it myself i have removed the motor in my mr2 a couple times so i think i can do it but would prefer to pay someone

I will be back in Houston / Galveston this sunday. I wont have any free time until next weekend however to lend a hand (probably after thursday). What area of Houston are you in? I am typically in Galveston but dont mind the ride up. How well stocked with tools are you?

Have done a clutch and done rod bearings at seperate times.. if you want to do everything in one shot its easier to just drop the entire engine if you have the equipment (hoist, dolly and engine stand).

I dont mind lending a hand, and am not looking to be 'paid' to do the work.

i am in katy near hwy 6.
i can probably get my buddys power tools i have an engine lift.
i have already replaced the timing belt water pump motor mounts so im not sure if removing the engine would be best bet.?
i have never done a clutch but like i said i have pulled the motor/tranny on my mr2 several times.

i was looking to buy a cheapish car but have had no luck so i think i might drop the money into my s2 and get it back on the road and better looking/riding.

it does need new suspension up front. when it was on the road when i hit bumps i felt wobble and lots of bounce. also the steering rack needs replaced or rebuilt. it kind of needs a lot i guess.

i have not ordered a clutch or anything. kind of lost on where to start and what to get.

Doing the clutch and rod bearings on your back will suck. If it was one or the other I would do it with engine in car. Pulling the engine is the better method for both.

Do you rely on this car? It may be down for a week or two.

i think i may have found someone to do it for a pretty good price at their shop.

do you have any suggestions on what clutch to buy?
i was leaning towards the centerforce clucth disc and oem bearing
or should i just go with the sachs kit?

Personally i would just go with a one of the OEM Sach's kit if its just your daily driver. Replace the throwout bearing, rear main seal at the same time everything is apart. Of course a new guide tube, bolts..etc (just get the install kit that various vendors sell).

Suspension is easy as pie to do on jackstands.. i would just get Koni's all around as they are relativley cheap. Power steering..depenends on whats leaking. Pump, rack or one of the lines?
