glad it did. I've gotten many messages on youtube about it from all kinds of people with Motronic cars. I wanted to make part 2, which would go through the easy way to test the sensor and the wiring, but my camera's broken.

thats a pity would be interesting to see that.

A fair few people must just this as a cause of rough running at certain points in the rev range?!

Haha! That one was cool, since the camera wouldn't quite fit with the air filter in place, so I did a "dry" run up and down the main street. Car sounded totally awesome, just like it had a good exhaust on it. I was interested if the AFM would actually hit the fully open stop at max revs, but it didn't. I later found out it wouldn't matter if it did or not for fuel metering purposes, since the WOT map on the Motronic is 1 dimensional and only uses the rpm signal. Good way to know you have a vacuum leak, clogged injector, clogged catalytic converter, bad fuel pressure regulator, or something like that, 'cause it will be injecting fuel assuming the engine is working well, since it doesn't even use the O2 sensor at WOT. It will run like crap if anything is off.

www.frwilk.com has a lot to say about the AFM refurb. I did mine a few years ago based on F.R.'s info. An easy, fun little job and an improvement for the car, too.
