Help with belts / tensioners
Hey just about to start doing the belts tomorrow I don't trust my parts suppliers........ is this pulley the same as the old one?
I have measured both and the sizes are exactly the same but the new one is metal and the old is made of a hard plastic or rubber? ![]() One of the orig tensioners (not this pulley) died and hence I am rebuilding!! This tensioner looks like it is Porsche and can't see any sign of it being replaced in 100,000+ miles in the history - no wonder it broke - could it have been orig, if so made it to 245,000!!

I think the new belt rollers are made of metal instead of high quality
plastic. The timing belt and balance shaft belt tensioner rollers are made of highly improved plastic for 83-89 NA. |

I didn't know they made plastic ones. All the ones I've seen look like the one on the right. It should work fine.
