Cutting Off Spring Perches. . .Right Tool?

Anyone whacked off your factory spring perches? What did you use? I am thinking grinder and cutting wheel, but will that give the cleanest result?

i recently cut mine off with a cutting wheel. after cutting them, i grinded them down using the same tool.
