Fuchs Wheels - difference?
Hi,
I am the proud owner of two 944's, an 85 944 NA and a 87 944S. I notice a slight difference in the offset of the wheels. On the older 85 car the center crest seems to be about 1" offset deeper from the rim. The 87 car the rim is flush with the center crest. See in the attached picture. Is there a difference in width between the two wheels or is it just a different offset? ![]() |

different offsets. early cars 86 and earlier are 23.3mm offsets and later 87 and on are i believe 52mm.

1987 was the first year the 944 line switched to late offset wheels to acommodate the upcoming anti-lock brakes. The 911 line stayed with the earlier offset through 1989, switching to late offset in 1990.
Widths are the same, and 911 and 944 wheels are interchangeable. |

Your title does state "fuchs," though both cars pictured have phone dials.
If the question is which car will fuchs fit on, it will have to be the early one, since they were only available in early offset.
