Replacing auto flexplate with manual clutch parts
HELLO GUYS
can anybody walk me thru the steps of useing manual parts to replace auto flex plate or know where i can find a diagram and instructions i would greatly appreciate it been struggling with this car for a year will not let it beat me. i hope ![]() |

I have not been able to find any directions or diagrams. What I have found are a few mentions and the one with the most information is IAN at 944online.com.
He may provide more detailed information if you purchase the parts from his web site. He sells used parts in addition to new. ![]() If you are successful please document your work and post many pictures. GL John_AZ |

search on my posts as I recall discussing this once before biting the bullet and buying a new flex damper. What I can remember learning is that it is possible but it will whine like a son of a gun. I took this to mean that it might be too hard on the torque tube bearings and what ever saved on this would end up being spent on dropping the torque tube and rebuilding. This is just my -2cents...if you do your own labor you might give it a shot and post the results. personally I would consider changing out the tranny for a manual just to pick up another gear. but an auto is a good city car, though, and i drive mine almost every day.
