1985.5 having real hard time starting when cold.
A couple of weeks ago I had my 944 wouldn't start in the morning. A little while later I got the car to start but it ran real rough.
Fast forward to the last couple of days... If I put the pedal to the floor in the morning I can get it to start up, but it sputters real bad. It finally starts and runs ok with a little sputtering. If I shut the car off and go back out after 10-15 minutes it starts and runs perfect. I can shut of the car and restart it perfectly after that until the next morning. What can be causing this problem? |
Hi BB, It sounds as if the Fuel Pump Check Valve might be letting the fuel drain back from the fuel rail making it hard to start in the morning, or it could be the ISV.

So, I feel stupid now. What is the ISV?
Thanks, Oscar |
And, is the check valve incorporated into the Fuel pump?, and can the valve be repaired?
Again, thanks |
