MSD HEI coil wire part- what does it do and do I use it?
 

MSD 84039 MSD Coil Wire

I picked up a new MSD blaster 2 coil, MSD universal coil bracket and this MSD coil wire for $35. I'm not sure what the part in the middle does exactly or how to hook it up. Perhaps it is just for the MSD dust cover or MSF distributor? It is composed of the red piece pictured, a long, thing flat head bolt, a small wrapped wire donut and a screw on top that looks like the tip to a spark plug (that is sometimes left on). Any ideas?

I don't know. I got just the coil and did a direct swap and it works fine.

Excellent. I'll just forget that it came with that little part at all. It does say this is the kit to use when also adding the distributor dust cap and distributor so it is likely that piece is an adapter of some kind. Thanks for the help.

That little part is to change from a male connector to a female one, You shouldnt need it.
