Question metal grains in breather hose and intake hoses!

I've found some metal grains the size of medium sand grains in the breather hose coming off of the air oil separator. I've also found some in the intercooler pipes and the j-boot.

There are not many grains but enough to worry me.
I have a leak from the camshaft cover seal, so some positive pressure may have escaped down the breather hose. I find this hard to believe however, as it is connected on the negaitve pressure side of the turbo.

I'll appreciate any suggestions to where they may come from and/or what I can do to find out.

How does the inlet side of the turbo fins look?

I had something very similar on my 931 when the PO left a small bolt in the inlet fins. It worked like a lathe and removed all the fins from the inlet side. I too had a lot of metallic particles in the intake.

Yor problem could be the bearings in the turbo are bad and allowing the inlet impeller to rub against the inside of the cold side case, thereby creating crap to be ingested up the intake plumbing.

Thanks I'll have a look at the blades today.
I hope they are ok and that this is simply something that has been ingested through the intake at some point.
